SMART CITIES & NEW MOBILITIES
Smart cities are a key topic for both China and the world. China in particular is leading the development of smart cities with projects already deployed in about 800 cities. What are some key learnings for other countries? What are the opportunities for both local & foreign startups and corporates?
In Day 4 sessions, industry leaders, entrepreneurs & startup founders from smart cities and new mobilities industries have come together in Shanghai to offer their valuable insights on the development of smart cities and new mobilities technologies in China.

Helena Javitte, the Innovation manager of Accuracy, shared the characteristics of Chinese smart cities. In her session, Helena highlighted how China focuses its efforts on Smart Governance and Transportation. Due to the size of Chinese cities and thanks to the push from the Government, she expects China to be the best place to explore the development of Smart Cities and encourages foreign companies to test new applications.

2 | FUTURE OF SMART CITIES THROUGH DIGITAL WALLET
In this panel discussion, Bob Jiang, the Co-founder & President of Snowball, Laurent Tricheur, the Mobile Security Marketing & Partnership Manager at STMicroelectronics, along with Xinlang Yu, the Head of Digital Identification Department at Xiaomi, and the moderator - Annabelle Gawer, Director Centre of Digital Economy at the University of Surrey shared their experiences building and collaborating in this space. Their main takeaways are the importance of working together with the right partners from the ecosystem, having a solid business model, and the necessity to build industry standards.
